NDC SWIMMING CARNIVALS

The NDC Swimming Carnivals are one of the highlights on the College Calendar, with the dates being as follows:

Year 7/8s: Friday 23 February
(all Year 7 and 8 students leave at the end of PG and return at 3:00pm

Year 9-12s: Tuesday 20 February

All Emmaus students & teachers will meet at the Knight St Mercy Stadium at 8-45am and then board buses to Aquamoves at 9:15am

• Year 10-12 students will attend PG and Lesson 1, then all board buses to Aquamoves at 10:00am
• All Year 9-12 students will return to the Knight St Campus at 3:00pm

Other details regarding the Carnivals are as follows:

• Students are encouraged to dress up in their house colours and /or costumes but will need to be SunSmart by applying sunscreen and wearing a broad brimmed hat.
• Please note Streamers and face paint are not to be put on until the students arrive at Aquamoves.
• Students should bring sunscreen, wide brimmed hat, food and drink.
• A canteen, BBQ & Pizza sales will be available. Parents are not to drop off food to students throughout the day.
• Bi-Athlon, Novelty events, Live music, “Fashions on the Field” competition etc will be part of the day.
• Lanes 1 & 8 will be used as the “Swim for your House” lanes. Students can swim, dog paddle or even walk a lap in the water to earn extra points for their House

College Sport Carnivals are a key part of developing House and School spirit and all students are expected to attend. If a student does not attend, their absence will be followed up and if a Medical Certificate or proof of extenuating circumstance is not provided, the student will not be considered for extra-curricular activities (sport teams, productions, music excursions) for 2024.

GOULBURN MURRAY DIVISION INTER SCHOOL SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Notre Dame College will enter a team into the Goulburn Murray Division Swimming Carnival at Aquamoves on 29 February.

Information on the Carnival and the nomination/selection process for the NDC team will be advertised on the Student Bulletin following the NDC Swimming Carnivals. In the meantime, students or parents can contact Rohan Larkin on Rohan,Larkin@NOTREDAME.vic.edu.au for information.

Due to limited positions available, nominating for the NDC Swimming team does not guarantee a student will be selected.

GOULBURN MURRAY DIVISION INTER SCHOOL SPORT CARNIVALS

Notre Dame College will enter teams in the following GMD Inter School Sports Carnivals (GMD) this year:

• Winter Sports (held during May for all Year Levels): Hockey, Basketball, Football, Netball, Badminton, Soccer, Cross Country, Clay Target Shooting, Golf.
• Summer (held 7 March for Year 9-12 & 16 October for Year 7/8) : Table Tennis, Cricket, Tennis, Lawn Bowls, Volleyball.

Students can compete in one GMD Winter and one GMD Summer Inter School Sport Carnival.

Nomination information will be forwarded to all students in the weeks leading up to the Carnivals.

Due to limited positions available, nominating for a sport does not guarantee a student will be selected in a team.

SCHOOL SPORT VIC TEAMS

Notre Dame College students are eligible for selection in the School Sport Victoria (SSV) teams which compete at the 2024 Australian National Championships.

Information on the Victorian teams, including nomination details, can be found at the Team Vic page on the SSV website - www.ssv.vic.edu.au - whilst information on national events can be found at the School Sport Australia website, www.schoolsportaustralia.edu.au

Nominations are now open for Parents to register their child to trial for SSV State teams.
